Introduction
In the current Order Management System (OMS), customers face difficulties while creating products via bulk upload in marketplaces that support custom option types. The primary issues include:
- Display of all available Option types which is required to create the product like Size, Colour, Variant etc.in the Excel sheet, creating confusion.
- Duplicate entries due to case-sensitive option types.
- Incorrect data selection, leading to product setup errors for which data fix needs to be given by tech team.
- Wrong option chosen with same name but difference in one alphabet (e.g., color & colour)
- Input the value for two same options instead of one in bulk upload file due to availability of 1000+ option types.
- Creation of same option type with small changes (Size & Sizes)
Key Capabilities
- Store-Level Configuration: Admins can define and manage custom option types directly from the OMS settings.
- Restricted Option Display: Only pre-configured option types appear in the bulk upload template.
- Duplicate Prevention: Case-insensitive validation to prevent the creation of duplicate entries.
- User-Friendly Interface: Easy configuration and management using intuitive settings that provide users more power over creating new option types through the user interface.
Advantages
- Increased Efficiency: Streamlines the product creation process by reducing manual errors and confusion.
- Improved Data Integrity: Ensures consistent and accurate product data across marketplaces.
- Enhanced User Experience: Simplifies the bulk upload process, making it more intuitive for users.
- Reduced Retry Attempts: Minimizes the need for multiple attempts to correct errors during bulk product uploads, saving time and effort.
How to enable Option types
1. Select integration module in OMS
2. Click on 3 dots given against the marketplace to open the available options.
3. Select the 'configure option type' from the drop-down
4. Configure option type from the options available in drop-down menu or create a new type by typing in the input box.
5. Now create/upload group products with selected option type in OMS.
Summary
The Option type configuration feature simplifies bulk product uploads by showing only pre-configured option types, reducing confusion and errors. It eliminates duplicate entries, ensures accurate product data, and minimizes manual corrections, ultimately enhancing efficiency and user experience for OMS users.
