Introduction

We’re excited to introduce a powerful new feature in the Anchanto Warehouse Management System (WMS) — the ability to assign pick pools directly to specific pickers from within the WMS interface.

A pick pool is a grouped list of items that need to be picked from the warehouse to fulfil one or more orders.

Previously, pickers had to scan a pick pool ID from a printed sheet to access this list and begin picking.

With this new enhancement, warehouse supervisors can assign a pick pool to a picker directly in the system. The assigned pick pool, along with the list of items to be picked, will instantly appear on the picker’s PDA. This eliminates the need for printed sheets, streamlines the workflow, and enables pickers to start working without any manual scanning or data entry.

Key Capabilities

1. Assign Pick Pool to Specific Picker
   • Supervisors can assign a picker to a pick pool directly from the WMS UI.
   • Only one picker can be assigned to each pool at a time.
2. Picker Receives Pool on PDA
   • Once assigned, the pick pool appears in the picker’s PDA task list.
   • No need to manually scan or input the pick pool ID.

How to Use

Assign Picker from WMS UI

Step 1: Go to the Order module from the main navigation panel.

Step 2: Select Pool Created / Ready to Pick from the secondary navigation panel.

Step 3: The system opens the Pending tab by default. This lists all unassigned pick pools.

Step 4: In the Actions column, click the Actions dropdown for a pool.

 Step 5: From the dropdown, select Assign Picker. Choose the Single Picker option and select the desired picker from the list of available pickers shown in the dropdown. Click Assign.

 Picking Pools from PDA

Step 1: Update the WMS mobile app to the latest version on your Android device.

Step 2: Log in with your picker credentials.

Step 3: Navigate to Pick Orders → Pick by Pool.

Step 4: Start Picking: Tap the pool card directly, or Scan / enter the Pick Pool Number.

Step 5: The screen shows a list of items to pick. Based on warehouse/customer/user-level configurations, the picker should:

• Scan or enter the location
• Enter the quantity being picked
• Scan or input batch & expiry or serial number, if applicable
• Scan or input the appropriate pick bin

Repeat until all items are picked.

Step 6: Once all items are picked, the system moves the order automatically to the Packing stage.

Summary

This enhancement simplifies warehouse operations by allowing supervisors to assign pick pools directly to pickers from the WMS. By removing manual sheets and enabling automatic task visibility on PDAs, the update improves efficiency, accuracy, and task control across warehouse teams.
