Overview
When Shopify includes the customer’s delivery latitude and longitude with an order’s shipping address, Anchanto OMS captures both values and stores them against the customer delivery address. You can then see the coordinates in the Order View Panel, the Order Grid Export and the OMS API. They are also passed to supported downstream flows, so carrier integrations, reporting and location-sensitive delivery processes can use the location Shopify provided.
Prerequisites for Success:
- Shopify orders only. Coordinates are captured only for orders received from Shopify.
- Shopify must send the coordinates. Values are captured only when Shopify includes
shipping_address.latitudeandshipping_address.longitudein the order. - Access permissions. Your existing PII masking and role-based access control (RBAC) settings decide whether you see the values or see them masked.
- No setup needed. Your existing order creation process stays the same.
Step-by-Step Instructions
How Shopify fields map to OMS
| Shopify field | OMS field |
|---|---|
shipping_address.latitude | Customer Delivery Latitude |
shipping_address.longitude | Customer Delivery Longitude |
Check whether Shopify provided coordinates
Go to the order in your Shopify admin → Check the Shipping address section → If coordinates are on the delivery address, OMS captures them when the order is fetched.
View coordinates in the Order View Panel
Go to Order View Panel (navigation path not covered in source — needs SME input) → Click the Order Info. tab → The Latitude and Longitude rows appear under the Shipping Address column with the values captured from Shopify.
View coordinates in the Order Grid Export
Go to Order Grid → Click Export → Customer Delivery Latitude and Customer Delivery Longitude are included in the export where applicable, masked where your access settings require it.
Not covered in source, needs SME input (export steps and column names).
Retrieve coordinates through the OMS API
Go to OMS API → Call GET /rest/v1/orders/{id} → The response includes the delivery coordinates captured from Shopify.
Important Notes & Limitations
- Captured only when Shopify provides them. If Shopify doesn’t send latitude or longitude, the fields stay blank and the order processes normally.
- No geocoding. Anchanto does not generate or calculate coordinates from the delivery address.
- Shipping address only. Coordinates are stored against the customer delivery (shipping) address.
- Privacy controls apply. Latitude and longitude follow your existing PII masking and RBAC controls wherever they are displayed or exported.
- Downstream availability depends on the integration. Coordinates are passed to supported OXM and WMS flows. Whether a specific downstream integration receives them depends on that integration flow.
- Order creation is unchanged. Orders without coordinates are still created and processed successfully.
Troubleshooting & Common Errors
| If the system shows this error | Follow these steps to fix it |
|---|---|
| The Latitude and Longitude fields are blank on a Shopify order | Shopify did not provide coordinates for this order. Anchanto doesn’t generate coordinates from the address, so the fields stay blank. The order still processes normally. |
| The coordinates appear masked | Your existing PII masking and role-based access control settings apply to these fields. Contact your account administrator to review your access permissions. |
