Enable LPN Management for a Warehouse in Anchanto WMS

Overview

Turning on LPN Management for a warehouse activates LPN-based operations there and adds the LPN Container Master and LPN Master. It also lets you set how strictly the system checks each LPN's weight and volume against its container, so containers are never overloaded.

Prerequisites

• Admin (Tenant) enablement: LPN Management must first be enabled at Admin (Tenant) level. Only the Anchanto team (Implementation Team or Key Account Manager) can do this. Customers cannot enable or modify this setting, so please contact your Anchanto representative if you need this feature.
• Permissions: Warehouse-level settings are enabled by authorized warehouse users.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Turn on LPN Management

1. Go to Warehouse → open the required warehouse and scroll to LPN Management Group → The LPN settings are displayed. 
2. Go to LPN Management Group → Tick LPN Management → LPN-based operations are activated for the warehouse. 

Configure capacity validation

3. Go to Capacity Validation → Tick Weight Validation → The system validates LPN weight against the defined container capacity and restricts further addition if the configured limit is exceeded.
4. Go to Capacity Validation → Tick Volume Validation → The system validates LPN volume (H × W × L) against container capacity and restricts further addition if the defined limit is exceeded.
5. Go to Capacity Validation → Tick Block if Capacity Exceeds → WMS stops over-capacity transactions.
6. Go to Threshold Limit (%) → Enter a percentage → Validation is triggered when LPN utilization exceeds this threshold. 

Set picking count behavior

7. Go to LPN Management Group → Tick or untick Enable Mandatory SKU Counting. The result depends on your choice:
   • When enabled, users must explicitly count and confirm the quantity of each SKU during picking.
   • When disabled, quantity auto-increments on SKU scan.

Save

8. Go to the bottom of the page → Click Update Warehouse → The warehouse LPN settings are saved.

Important Notes & Limitations

• After enabling LPN Management at warehouse level, it must also be enabled at Customer level to apply.
• Capacity validation applies to both Child and Parent LPNs. For a Parent LPN, it includes all mapped Child LPNs plus any stock allocated directly to the Parent.
• Validation behavior can be configured two ways:
  • Block Process: the system prevents the action if capacity is exceeded.
  • Allow: the system shows a popup and allows the user to confirm.
