Receive Inventory into an Existing LPN in Anchanto WMS

Overview

When you receive a GRN, each SKU must be mapped to an LPN. If you already have an LPN, you can scan it, confirm the container has capacity, and link it under a Parent LPN, so the inventory is grouped by handling unit right from the start.

Prerequisites

• LPN enabled for the warehouse and customer (see 1.1 and 1.2).
• A GRN in the Receiving stage.
• Parent–Child mapping requires the hierarchy config to be enabled at Warehouse level.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Go to Inbound → Goods Received (GRN) → Click Receive → The GRN opens for receiving. 
2. Go to Scan SKU/ UPC/ USN → Scan the SKU, or enter the quantity manually after the first scan → Quantity auto-increments on each scan. 
3. Go to Scan LPN → Scan the existing LPN → A validation popup shows Container Type, Weight Capacity, Volume Capacity and Occupied Capacity.
4. Go to the validation popup → Click Proceed → The Parent mapping popup is displayed. 
5. Go to the Parent mapping popup → Scan the Parent LPN, or generate a Parent LPN and map the container → The system validates weight and volume capacity. 
6. Go to Confirm LPN Linking → Click Confirm → The Parent–Child mapping is created. 
7. Go to the receiving grid → Continue mapping the remaining SKUs → The mapped LPN is added to the grid. 
8. Go to the receiving screen → Repeat for all SKUs → Once receiving is complete, the GRN moves to the Count & QC stage.

Important Notes & Limitations

• LPN mapping is mandatory for each SKU.
• Parent–Child setting enabled: a Child LPN must be mapped to a Parent LPN. If there is no parent, scan the same Child LPN.
• Parent–Child setting disabled: the single LPN flow is allowed.
• One LPN can hold a single SKU or multiple SKUs. Quantity is mapped to the LPN automatically during scan.
