Create a Storage LPN and Map It to a Location in Anchanto WMS

Overview

A Storage LPN acts as a storage bin. Inventory is maintained against the Storage LPN, which is mapped to a warehouse location, rather than only against the physical location. You create it in LPN Master and then assign it to the location where it will be kept.

Prerequisites 

• The required container type must exist in the LPN Container Master.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Create the Storage LPN

1. Go to Warehouse → LPN Master → Click Create LPN → The Create LPN panel opens.
2. Go to Create LPN → Select the Customer, enter the Prefix (maximum 10 characters) and the Number of LPNs, select the Container Type, and set Stage = Storage → The details are captured.
3. Go to Create LPN → Click Create → The Storage LPN is created.
4. Go to LPN Master → Open the Storage tab → The created Storage LPN is displayed. 

Map it to a location

5. Go to LPN Master → Open the required Storage LPN → The LPN opens.
6. Go to the Storage LPN → Select the warehouse Location where it will be kept and save the mapping → The Storage LPN is mapped to that location. 

Important Notes & Limitations

• During putaway or picking, you scan the Storage LPN or the physical location, according to warehouse configuration.
• When Allow only Bin (Storage LPN) is enabled, applicable storage operations must be performed through the Storage LPN/Bin.
• Storage LPN (Bin Management) and Inbound cannot be enabled together.
